So you see what is going on in the life of Job? Behind what is appearing here to be absurd calamities, there are heavenly decisions. There are heavenly transactions that are being made that are of infinite importance.
You know since 1999 in the fall of the Soviet Union, there is now considered to be in the world one Superpower. And that is the country I come from. I am not bragging in saying that, I am simply saying that God in his providence has placed the United States in that position. And there are four command centres in my country that determine what happens. The White House, where our president lives; the Capitol building, where our legislature operates; the Pentagon: where our military makes decisions; and the Supreme Court: where our laws are interpreted.
Now the same thing is true in Uganda. You have a State House where the president lives. You have the parliament where the parliament does its work. You also have the Supreme Court.
Do you think important matters are at stake in these places? Are important matters being considered in your parliament or in your State House? Are important matters being interpreted by your Supreme Court? Of course, the answer is "Yes". Many important matters are being dealt with in your country here in Uganda. And the same is true for many of you who come from different countries. You too have equivalent kinds of bodies that meet or gather in different places to make important decisions. There is much at stake in our countries. The good and evil in our countries is determined by the decisions that are made in these places.
Considering the great importance of the decisions that are supposed to be made in these places, there is indeed a lot at stake in these "command centres" or centres of authority.
But how much more important are things that are at stake when God meets with Satan in the throne room of the universe and in the command centre of everything.
