Is the Joy of your Christmas in the Presents or in the Presence?
What do You Need to Do to Experience the Presence of God?
It is important to bear in mind that God is always watching very closely all the things you do, all the words you say and all the thoughts you think (Psalms 139: 1-18). You should recognize, therefore, that you are a sinner and confess your secret and public sins before God. Ask God to forgive you of all your sins and to enable you to completely turn away from these sins (1 John 1:5-9). — Don’t be your own boss! Open the doors and let Christ come in and be the head of your home, heart and life.
Conclusion
Friend, have you thought of bonding and getting intimate with God and desiring His Presence more than anything else in life or you are so busy preparing for Christmas that you have no room for Christ himself in your life? Have you turned God’s begotten Son into God’s forgotten Son? The true reason for the Christmas celebration is not primarily in giving each other presents but it is rather in the hot pursuit of the presence and power of the Almighty God. There is no present in this world which can take the place of the need for God’s presence in our lives. May the Lord help you to pursue Christ’s presence this Christmas season and not just presents to place under the Christmas tree.
